Roxane is a veteran district special education leader with a track record of building systems that transform the opportunities and outcomes of students with disabilities. As an Advisor at SPED Strategies, Roxane supports special education leaders and other partners with the day to day execution of special education systems change. 

Prior to joining SPED Strategies, Roxane served as the Special Services Supervisor/Director in DeSoto Parish Public Schools and Evangeline Parish Public Schools.  While serving in those roles, Roxane served on the executive leadership team of the Louisiana Association of Special Education Administration (LASEA) as the treasurer and vice-president.  During her time as a leader of LASEA, Roxane worked with special education leaders across the state in changing district mindsets about access and equity for students with disabilities.

Roxane began her career as a preschool special education teacher.  She moved into an elementary teaching position later and became a certified educational diagnostician.  She served in a pupil appraisal role for 20 years before moving into a district coordinator role for response to intervention.
