Professional Learning Tailored to Your Community
Professional learning only works when it's built around the people in the room. This past school year, our team delivered over 100 customized engagements, each one designed from the ground up around the specific needs, context, and challenges of the educators involved. Read more to learn about what that process looks like, and why it makes a difference.

Professional learning at every level is a significant investment. For state education agencies and school districts, it is also one of the top proven levers for improving outcomes for students with disabilities. But investment alone does not guarantee impact. When professional learning is designed without a deep understanding of the community, context, and challenges it is meant to address, it can fall flat. This happens not because the content is wrong, but because it is not delivered in a way that fits the needs of all involved.
This past school year, our team delivered over 100 customized engagements, designed from the ground up around the specific needs of the educators in the room.
Context Changes Everything
We know what educators are navigating every day. The number of students in a classroom, the range of disabilities represented, the level of external support available, and the protocols a state or district already uses. All of these factors shape how a skill gets applied and whether an educator can take what they learned in a session and put it to use the next day. When professional learning is built without accounting for those specifics, it creates a gap between what is being taught and what educators actually need to do.
Customization Starts With a Real Conversation
Our approach to customized professional learning blends content expertise with deep knowledge of the audience. It begins with a pre-survey administered to the community to identify their strengths and where they have room to grow, specifically around supporting students with disabilities.
From there, our team analyzes those results and designs a curated sequence of learning that is responsive to what those educators and leaders told us they need. That proposed sequence then goes back to district and school leaders for review before anything is delivered.
Our team facilitates each session while collecting impact data along the way, and at the close of the project, we re-administer the original pre-survey to measure growth in educator knowledge and skills as a direct result of the training.
When learning is built around the people in the room, they show up differently. Across all of our customized sessions this past year, 91% of participants reported feeling meaningfully included in their session. That number reflects a strong sense of belonging and engagement across the work.
The Right Fit for Where You Are
Not every challenge fits an existing mold. Sometimes what a team needs is to develop a specific sub-skill, work through a particular implementation challenge, or apply a framework to their unique context. This is what our customizable solutions are built for. The approach is designed to go deeper, to be more precise, and to leave educators with something they feel connected to and ready to use immediately.
Next week, we will walk through what this process looks like in practice, from the work we have done with partners across states like Louisiana, Nebraska, and Massachusetts, to the feedback that tells us it is working.
