When every building across a district brings its own unique practices and perspectives, creating systemwide alignment takes intention. At North Platte Public Schools (NPPS) in Nebraska, that’s the meaningful work we’re tackling together.

We partnered with NPPS last year to advance accessible education through a professional learning series for leaders at all buildings and a specific series for educators and paraprofessionals at Adams and Madison middle schools.

As we moved into our second year, we added something new: support around North Platte's own Inclusive Walk-Through Form. It's a tool that leaders at NPPS built as a result of the leader series last year to capture what accessible education looks like in their district. As their partner, our work shifted to helping them use it consistently. When administrators do walkthroughs, we're there supporting them in real-time, connecting what they're seeing to what teachers are learning. It's coaching at the leadership level, not just the classroom.

When your observation tool and your professional learning match up, something clicks. Teachers get feedback that relates to their training. Leaders look for things that have already been introduced. Everyone's speaking the same language.

Six different buildings. One district working to hold it all together. That takes more than good programming. It takes building something that can actually stick, and we're proud to be part of it.
